Cancellation

We require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for any cancellations, this allows us to offer your grooming slot to another client. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice, but more than 24 hours will be subject to a booking fee of 25% of the groom price before any future appointments are offered. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be subject to a booking fee of 50% of the groom price before any future appointments are offered. The booking fee will come off the cost of the groom on the day, but is non-refundable.

Late Drop Off

We understand that life is busy and we will always endeavour to accommodate your schedule where possible, however, we are a busy business and arriving later than your agreed appointment time may result in a reduction of services offered or refusal. If we are unable to complete the groom due to late drop off any deposit(s) paid will be forfeited to cover the cost of staff wages during the time allotted for your dog. If you may be late contact us with as much notice as possible.

Late Collection

Like late drop-offs, late collections can negatively impact the business and other clients' experiences. We will give you a minimum of 10 minutes notice before your dog is ready for collection, or if we are familiar with your dog and the length of time they are usually at the salon, an expected collection time. We do not like to charge for late collection, but if it happens more than once, or it is over 30 minutes past your dog being ready, a charge of £5 per 15 minutes past the time the groom has been completed will be charged, and no further bookings will be accepted until this is paid.

Matted Dogs

Matted fur pulls on the dog's skin, causing pain and discomfort when they move or lay on the mats. The skin underneath will have no airflow and may be raw and inflamed, as well as matting often hiding skin complaints, parasites and other injuries. Matted coats will not dry properly which can lead to skin infections or irritation. Fleas, ticks, maggots and other parasites may be in the coat causing further issues.

If your pet's coat is matted, it is unfeasible to de-mat/brush out the coat as this would cause excessive pain and suffering. Instead, it will need to be clipped extremely short, this is due to the need to get the blade between the matting and the skin to enable us to remove it safely.

Removing matting with scissors is not considered safe, and clipping will be the only option. You agree that where your stylist deems necessary any and all matted coat will be shaved down to an appropriate level.

The owner acknowledges that, while every precaution will be taken, the removal of severe matting may result in nicks, cuts, or skin irritation. Any necessary veterinary costs arising from this will be the owner's responsibility. We will use a sensitive shampoo to help soothe any irritation, but please note that your dog’s behaviour may change whilst they adjust.

Ultimately, removing the matting is in the best interest of your pet and we will work with you to create a grooming schedule at home and in the salon to prevent it from happening in the future.

Fleas and Other Parasites

At Salvator Dog Grooming we take the health and wellbeing of all pets very seriously and ask that you keep up to date with regular preventatives for parasites. If you suspect your dog may have fleas or any other parasite before their grooming appointment, please let us know, as your dog will need to be treated before they can be accepted for grooming. Every dog will be checked by their groomer on check-in for any signs, and if found your dog will be refused and any deposit(s) paid will be forfeited to cover the cost of staff wages during the time allotted for your dog.

If fleas or other parasites are found during the grooming process, depending on the severity of the infestation, you will either be asked to collect your dog at whichever point in the grooming process they are at, or the groom may be completed. However, a cost of £15 will be requested to cover the treatment of the salon environment, and no further bookings will be accepted until this is paid.

Payment

Payment must be made on the day of the appointment, on collection at the latest. We accept Cash and Card payments except from American Express. If for any reason payment is not made on the day of the appointment no further appointments will be given.

Medical or Behavioural Concerns

Please give as much information as possible about your pet and their medical and behavioural history. We strive to do the best for your pet, which is only possible when we have all the correct information.

Your groomer must understand any medical concerns your dog may have so that they can adjust the groom accordingly, and will not be liable for any issues arising due to lack of information given.
We will work with dogs of all temperaments but your groomer must be made aware if your dog is a bite risk, or has a bite history of any kind.
You also agree that if necessary a muzzle may be used.

Some can become anxious or reactive during the grooming process, if continuing the groom will threaten your dog’s emotional or physical health, and/or the safety of the groomer, we will discontinue the groom and contact you immediately.

Whilst we rarely need to stop a groom, we will always put the dog’s welfare first. In the event this happens, the groom will be charged based on time taken, and services completed up to full payment.

Complaints

We hope you are always happy with the service you receive, but if for any reason your dogs haircut is not up to our usual standards, we must be notified within 24 hours. Any complaints made over 24 hours from their appointment time will be heard, but no changes will be able to be made. We are happy for, and encourage you to check your dog before leaving the salon.
